Introduction

Welcome to UmaPOS Kitchen. UmaPOS Kitchen is a mobile kitchen display app (KDS) designed for restaurant chefs and kitchen staff to view incoming orders, manage preparation status, and send ready alerts to waiters.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use the UmaPOS Kitchen app.

By using UmaPOS Kitchen, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Who This App Is For

UmaPOS Kitchen is intended for restaurant kitchen employees who are authorized by their employer. It is not designed for children under 13.

Your restaurant employer controls staff accounts, PIN access, and operational data. UmaPOS provides the platform on behalf of the restaurant.

2. Information We Collect

When you use UmaPOS Kitchen, we may collect and process the following information:

  • Chef / kitchen staff name, staff ID, restaurant name, and branch information (if your restaurant uses branches)
  • Kitchen section or station assignment and staff role
  • Login PIN used to authenticate you within your restaurant
  • Incoming kitchen orders, order items, table numbers, quantities, notes, and preparation status updates you make in the app
  • Order timing and kitchen performance data shown in the app
  • Device model, operating system version, app version, a device identifier for push registration, and push notification token (FCM)

UmaPOS Kitchen does not access your device camera.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Authenticate staff login and show kitchen orders assigned to your station
  • Update item and order status (for example, preparing or ready) and sync with your restaurant's UmaPOS account
  • Deliver push notifications for new kitchen orders and operational updates
  • Improve app performance, security, and reliability

We do not use your information for unrelated advertising or sell your personal data.

4. Notifications

  • New orders sent to the kitchen
  • Order or item updates from the restaurant system
  • Other operational alerts relevant to kitchen staff

You can manage notification permissions in your device settings.

5. Internet Access

  • Sync kitchen orders and ticket status
  • Receive live updates from waiters and the restaurant system
  • Register and deliver push notifications

Data is transmitted over secure HTTPS connections.

6. Third-Party Services

We use trusted service providers to operate UmaPOS Kitchen:

These providers process data only to deliver the UmaPOS service, under their own privacy and security terms. We do not sell your data to third parties.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared only:

  • With the restaurant that employs you (your employer controls staff and order data)
  • With service providers listed above, to operate the app
  • When required by law or to protect legal rights, safety, or security

8. Data Security

  • Encrypted HTTPS communication
  • Secure authentication (staff PIN)
  • Role-based access so kitchen staff only see data for their restaurant
  • Secure cloud infrastructure through our service providers

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.

9. Data Retention

Restaurant and order data is stored while the restaurant's UmaPOS account remains active.

Your restaurant administrator can disable staff access at any time. When access is removed, you will no longer be able to use the app with that account.

10. Your Choices

  • Log out of the app at any time
  • Turn off notifications in device settings (some alerts may still appear inside the app when open)
  • Contact your restaurant administrator to update or remove your staff account

For questions about data held by your employer, contact your restaurant manager or administrator.

11. Children's Privacy

UmaPOS Kitchen is for restaurant employees. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on our website with an updated effective date.

Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
