Introduction

Welcome to UmaPOS Reception. UmaPOS Reception is a mobile application designed for restaurant front-desk and reception staff to manage guest queues, seating, table availability, and bookings.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use the UmaPOS Reception app.

By using UmaPOS Reception, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Who This App Is For

UmaPOS Reception is intended for restaurant reception and front-of-house employees who are authorized by their employer. It is not designed for children under 13.

Your restaurant employer controls staff accounts, PIN access, and operational data. UmaPOS provides the platform on behalf of the restaurant.

2. Information We Collect

When you use UmaPOS Reception, we may collect and process the following information:

  • Reception staff name, staff ID, restaurant name, and branch information (if your restaurant uses branches)
  • Staff role and login PIN used to authenticate you within your restaurant
  • Guest queue entries, party size, wait times, and seating assignments you manage in the app
  • Table availability and booking information shown or updated through the app
  • Guest names or contact details only when your restaurant chooses to record them for bookings or queue management
  • Device model, operating system version, app version, a device identifier for push registration, and push notification token (FCM), if notifications are enabled

UmaPOS Reception does not access your device camera.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Authenticate staff login and show queue, seating, and booking data for your restaurant
  • Sync guest flow and table status with your restaurant's UmaPOS account
  • Deliver push notifications for operational updates, when enabled
  • Improve app performance, security, and reliability

We do not use your information for unrelated advertising or sell your personal data.

4. Notifications

  • Queue or seating updates
  • Booking reminders or changes
  • Other operational alerts from your restaurant

You can manage notification permissions in your device settings.

5. Internet Access

  • Sync queue, seating, and booking data
  • Receive live updates from the restaurant system
  • Register and deliver push notifications, when enabled

Data is transmitted over secure HTTPS connections.

6. Third-Party Services

We use trusted service providers to operate UmaPOS Reception:

These providers process data only to deliver the UmaPOS service, under their own privacy and security terms. We do not sell your data to third parties.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared only:

  • With the restaurant that employs you (your employer controls staff and guest-flow data)
  • With service providers listed above, to operate the app
  • When required by law or to protect legal rights, safety, or security

8. Data Security

  • Encrypted HTTPS communication
  • Secure authentication (staff PIN)
  • Role-based access so reception staff only see data for their restaurant
  • Secure cloud infrastructure through our service providers

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.

9. Data Retention

Restaurant and guest-flow data is stored while the restaurant's UmaPOS account remains active.

Your restaurant administrator can disable staff access at any time. When access is removed, you will no longer be able to use the app with that account.

10. Your Choices

  • Log out of the app at any time
  • Turn off notifications in device settings
  • Contact your restaurant administrator to update or remove your staff account

For questions about data held by your employer, contact your restaurant manager or administrator.

11. Children's Privacy

UmaPOS Reception is for restaurant employees. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on our website with an updated effective date.

Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
